Hardware Price War – Happy Times For Shoppers!

 In Daily Column

So in sticking with yesterdays topic of Retail, I thought this was very relevant. I saw on A Current Affair the other night that there is a new player in the Home renovations world, set to rival and out do Bunnings!

It’s called ‘Masters’ and is predicted to shake things up with massively competitive pricing, plush interiors and bright shopping centre aisles, appealing to a much wider demographic.

This is a prime example of  successfully filling a gap in an already saturated market. Yes we have Bunning’s and Mitre 10 plus there’s always good old Ikea but ‘Masters’ promises all that these big names offer but for a lot less! It’s a Hardware and Home Improvements store all under one roof and boasts to be the cheapest store of its kind in Australia. Stocking a huge range including but not limited to your standard bolts, screws and lighting but also appliances, outdoor furniture, white goods, wall art and a huge paint range.

In an age where home improvement shows are all over our TVs, it’s no better time than now to appeal to an excited and willing market. It’s actually genius I think, creating a home reno place that not only speaks to the usual suspects of builders and tradies but to mums and grannies who also love to do home renovations but want a pleasurable shopping centre experience at the same time!

It’s just another example of where Retail is heading. No one wants to splash out on extravagant luxury items. They want practical, good old fashioned prices for honest quality products. In a time where the cost of living is so high, it’s nice to know there’s a place you can go where you’re not going to get ripped off.

Check out the clip of ‘Masters’ featured on ACA. I don’t know about you but I got a little bit excited! Who doesn’t want to get a brand new lawnmower with a Honda Engine for under 500 bucks! Bargain!

What do you guys think? Are you excited for Masters?

I am excited for Masters! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As an interior designer, it’s great to know there is a new retailer with a bit of spunk on it’s way that I can send my clients to!
